About BIMPE VII

Print Size Limit

BIMPE is a mini print show, image area limited to 4in x 6in (10cm x 15 cm) OR 24 sq inches (150 sq cm). The paper size may not exceed 8in by 10in (20cm x 25cm).

We accept round prints, irregularly shaped prints, 3 dimensional prints, etc.

What kind of prints are accepted?

We love all prints!

BIMPE is open to: Relief, Screen, Intaglio, Lithography, Collography, Monoprints and even Digital. Please no Digital Prints of Photographs though, we draw the line there.

Jurying

Prints are selected for BIMPE by an outside jury of printmakers. A different jury is selected for each show on the merits of their experience as printmakers and artists. Each year the rotating jury brings fresh eyes and unique preferences, as a result, no BIMPE is the same from year to year.

The jury for BIMPE VII has yet to be announced.

Prizes

Each show has a number of prizes to be awarded for prints of distinction. 

Marijke Nap (1st) prize - $1000.00 CDN

2nd Prize - $750.00 CDN

3rd Prize - $500.00 CDN

Other prizes are awarded but vary from show to show. We will post additional prizes if they become available.

Exhibition

BIMPE culminates in an exhibition to be held at both the Federation Gallery, and the Dundarave Print Workshop Gallery, both on Granville Island, in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

BIMPE has been known to travel to Edmonton and Calgary A.B and as far as White Horse, Y.T in Canada. BIMPE has tentative plans to travel to Edmonton in January of 2013, but we will post further details once they are fixed. Please be aware that BIMPE will be holding the prints until the exhibitions are over and artists can except their prints to be mailed back after February 2013.
