After one long day of jurying, we have our selected prints and prize winners. Thanks to the jurors, volunteers, and artists for contributing to this years BIMPE! This year we had 296 artists from 47 different countries submit over 800 prints.
The opening for BIMPE IX will be held at The Federation Gallery on September 24th at 6pm, where the prize winners and honourable mentions will be announced. The show will then travel to Dundarave Print Workshop on Granville Island, UBCO in the Okanagan, and SNAP in Edmonton, Alberta.
Thanks to everyone who submitted early, we look forward to seeing all the prints!
The catalogue is at the printers…..
The prints are framed…….
We have cases of wine…………..
And our volunteers are set to hang the show on Monday.
Hopefully you can make it out to the Federation Gallery for the opening reception. 6 – 9 PM
This year we chose Rebecca Allaigre’s reduction woodcut “Cherry Top” for our catalogue cover.
So many thanks to all our hard working volunteers who’ve been organizing the entries for our jurying process.
We received over 300 entries this year containing more than 800 prints, now all alphabetized and ready for judging tomorrow!
Some of our favourite things found in the parcels include:
Neon yellow duct tape,
square bubble wrap,
Stamps! stamps! beautiful stamps!
personalized notes to the BIMPE crew,
and of course so many beautiful prints!
Thanks to all who entered. It is so inspiring to see the efforts of printmakers around the world.
